Character history-

James Mendetta was born to his father Jim Mendetta in the City of Jump once upon a time. His father was a good honest cop in a time when the mob was trying to slip bills into the pockets of ever officer they could in order to get away with things.

Unpopular though he was Jim Mendetta remained a loyal police officer in service to the city and an inspiration to his son who sought to join the force like so many other Mendetta's before him.

James studied hard in school, became successful football player for his High School and College teams but never went further with it, his heart would always be with the force. Joining it three days after graduation and a week later marrying his High School sweetheart Maria.

Loyal service to the force led him through a series of promotions, his specialty seemed to quickly become dealing with the growing Metahuman threat in the city. More and more super powered foes were popping up committing crimes and a strong sense of leadership, as well as a healthy lack of a self preservation instinct made him a hero on the force.

And one fateful December he was gifted with a son.

He was a good father and husband, buying his family a house in the suburbs, removed from the city, he didn't mind waking up early to make the commute into down town every morning because he could see the peaceful sleeping faces of his wife and child. That was enough for him.

A second child came a December a few years down the line and life seemed to be going as great as could be, it was a fairytale for the happy family. A Son who idealized his father and was close to his mother, a beautiful baby girl and a three bedroom two bathroom home in a good neighborhood. What more could a family ask for?

As the children grew they developed keen interests, the son in mystery novels and detective stories, influenced no doubt by his respect and admiration of his father, and the daughter Stage magic and slights of hand. The parents happily nutured these interests and kept up a steady stream of family traditions that cemented the children's upbringing.

Tragedy would strike later that year though, as a monstrous Metahuman rampage ended in disaster. The beast was taken down in the middle of the shopping district but only after hurling a car at a nearby service station. The explosion claimed nine lives including that of Jim's father who had retired from the force some years ago.

This began a slow spiral of unfortunate events in Jim's life. His father didn't have any life insurance so having to settle the costs of death was a hit to the families already tight budget. Furthermore over the next year there were cutbacks on the force due to a sudden rise metahuman vigilantes in the city. This led to the family having to move from their happy home in the burbs to a less then safe tiny apartment in down town. Maria began failing in health, a preexisting anemic condition becoming more prominent with the continuing stress.

Drinking became a problem for Jim, he thought he was more in control with it then he was but it was noticable to his family and co-workers. The force cut him slack though because he was a damn good detective even with that hitch.

His hate for the Metahumans became stronger with each day, particularly when the Teen Titans arrived in the city. His children were growing and it seemed like every day a new building was half destroyed or there were holes in the streets from the fights the Titans got into. As all over the country vigilante justice was making honest police work harder and throwing wrenches in the system he began to wonder if there was anything one man could do to stop the freaks from overcoming them all.

When the apocalypse came The Mendetta family became separated in the panic'd rush to leave the city. Jim had only barely located his wife who had fallen in the crowd and was protecting her from being trampled when everyone in the world had been killed by Trigon.

He was reborn when Trigon was defeated, with memories of the horror and the panic the city had fallen into, and blamed it entirely on the Titans for meddling in things that didn't need to be meddled with, believing the magic users had been the ones to bring Trigon down upon them.

Another powerful blow came when a police report had rumor that his own son had been seen fighting along side the titans and using superpowers. A news report video confirmed it but by then James had left home for fear of Jim's wrath. Jim felt betrayed and infuriated, like the entire metahuman community was laughing behind his back, that his own son had held such power and never told him. Hadn't trusted him.

He sent his daughter Melissa to live with Maria's parents, and tried to make Maria go as well but she wouldn't leave him in the city as the crime rate rose and chaos seemed to be lurking just around the corner. She wouldn't leave without her son or her husband. Her health however took a turn for the worse and she had to be hospitalized.

James finally surfaced to visit his mother...but Jim had grown hard and cold after hearing so much about his son and having no contact. When James refused to seek treatment to remove his powers Jim disowned him and sent him away without allowing him to see his mother.

James "Noir" Mendetta was murdered that night by another member of his team.

Jim came to the tower to identify the body, he claimed it after yelling at the Titans and even hitting Beastboy, taking his son's body back into the city.

The funeral was seen by hundreds, not only people who had grown up and known Noir or his father, not only the police force, but the city itself seemed to turn out to witness the burial of the young hero. Even members of the Justice League came to pay respects much to the mutual glares of the police force and a portion of the population.

Noir's death had acted as a spearhead for a campaign that had already been in the works to shut down the Titans. Earlier in the year the Mayor had already sold them out to a private government contracting facility to try and steal away their powers. This simply added to the swirling hate and distrust for metahumans in Jump City.

Jim became an active lobbyist for anti-metahuman laws. With the police force backing him it became harder for the Titans to operate within' the city.

Less then a month after Noir's death Maria Mendetta passed away.

Melissa had vanished as well, run away from Maria's parents house. Abandoned by his family Jim began to spiral even faster and farther down into depression and anger.

Things did not improve when shortly after Christmas rumors flew through the city that a new hero had joined the Titans dressed in Jim's son's uniform and using his name. While not unheard of it was odd and Jim himself went back to the graveyard with some officers and a reporter to confirm that yes in fact his son's body was still buried. Whoever this new "Noir" was...he was an impostor.

Melissa had surfaced again, sending postcards from Japan of all places, explaining to her father that she'd found Noir and that he had inspired her to seek out her own dreams, as well as inviting him to come visit some time, take a vacation.

Jim humored her but would not visit, not until he proved the new Noir was an impostor, he would not rest until the Titans were run out of the city and it was safe again. Melissa was all he had left in the world.

Crime after crime popped up in the city but the Titans seemed to be on their game again, saving the city from the brink of destruction, minimizing the damage and even raising money to cover the costs of rebuilding anything they did destroy The public opinion was swaying again in favor of the Titans, but Jim wouldn't be fooled.

His fanatical hate and alcoholism finally leaked into his worklife and he was forcefully retired from the force, but he wouldn't quit, not when the Titans were taking over once more! So he slipped into the evidence locker after his retirement party and stole a serum that had been seized from a raid on a mad scientist lab. According to the data they'd compiled it was supposed to give the user superhuman strength and durability. If he couldn't take the Titans down the legal way, he'd keep them in check by force.

The Serum however was unstable, and mutated him into a horrific monster. Enraged and not in his right mind anymore he sought out the impostor of his son to end things once and for all.

Character personality- Jim is a short tempered, reckless and hate filled individual who values the lives of "Normal" humans above that of Metahumans. He feels that the Metahuman gene is a mistake and that it should be cleansed from the gene pool as soon as possible.

While in his heart he is a good honest man he has lost his way, consumed by hurt and loss, too stubborn to accept the things he cannot change he struggles and fights uselessly when it will never bring back his father or his wife. It's that same stubbornness that makes him refuse to admit that his son is alive again. He simply can't deal with that he might be wrong, that his quest to save the city might be misled.

He won't willingly hurt women or children unless they are Metahuman, and even then he'll hesitate on Metahuman children (Under the age of 13)

He is fiercely defensive of that which he believes is his, and the chemicals that have granted him his strength have increased his rage reaction making it harder for him to calm down, and making him more uncontrollable when his emotions run hot.

Digimon personality-

Piyomon thinks of himself as a noble creature, but in reality he is nothing short of an adrenaline junkie. He rolls with Jim because he likes to rumble and there's nothing he likes more then a good fight. Good, evil he doesn't care he just lives for the rush.

Growing up alone he was forced to rely on himself and became fairly closed off emotionally. While outgoing and charismatic he is slow to trust anyone in particular and tends to only really believe in himself.

He also is fairly greedy and short sighted, living for the moment rather then the long term. He doesn't like being committed to anything and values his freedom most.

Character abilities-

The mutation to his body has granted him superhuman strength and durability, a superior jumping ability and a difficult to pierce skin. An enhanced sense of smell came with the package however his size and looks make him stand out in a crowd.
